Hädler shooting range: first noise barrier with baLCon elements

Together with noise protection experts from PML Ingenieure AG and planners from Egeter & Partner AG, the first noise barrier with baLCon elements was constructed at the Hädler shooting range in Altstätten, Canton St Gallen. In comparison to the steel plates normally used for ballistic protection, the baLCon elements have a number of advantages. In addition to lower material costs and easy installation between steel profiles, the advantages lie in the area of safety and environmental compatibility. The projectiles are absorbed by the baLCon elements. There are no dangerous ricochets and chippings (shatter protection) and no environmental contamination.

Easy to assemble

The prefabricated baLCon elements are 50 cm high, 200 cm long, 21 cm thick and weigh about 200 kg. They have threads for removable transport anchors, so that assembly between the HEA 180 steel profiles can be done safely and quickly, for example, using a crane.
