GTC measurement methods
Temperature measurements were first used worldwide for the investigation of dams by Dr. Kappelmeyer in the 1950s. Throughout Europe, GTC Kappelmeyer® successfully monitored more than 500 km of dams, dikes and numerous lock structures, as well as more than 200 trough excavation pits for leaks using the temperature sounding method patented in 1991.
Leak detection with fibre-optic measuring systems, including the gradient method, the heat pulse method and the frost pulse method, is also successfully used by us - for dams, dam walls, special civil engineering structures, excavation pits, pipelines, freezing bodies and for geothermal investigations.
